To drive its services, Inmar Intelligence regularly exchanges data with a wide range of stakeholders, including retailers, pharmacies, and pharmacy benefit managers.
Jenny Wilson, Director of IT at Inmar Intelligence, elaborates: “All our divisions rely on our central team to support them with managed file transfer [MFT] capabilities. Because we process HIPAA protected information, security is a top priority. We must also ensure high availability for MFT, as it supports mission-critical business services.”
For many years, Inmar Intelligence relied on a single MFT platform. But with growth on the horizon, the combination of a costly licensing model and unresponsive support led the organization to look for a new approach.
“In a recovery scenario, our data-movement architecture is the second system we restore, which shows how important MFT is to the business,” continues Wilson. “We were confident that deploying a new MFT platform alongside our existing tool would deliver big advantages for our stakeholders.”
By adding a second solution, Inmar Intelligence would gain the ability to perform maintenance without affecting its vital MFT services. Cost-effectiveness was also a key requirement, as Wilson confirms: “Inmar Intelligence is targeting fastpaced growth in the years ahead. After evaluating MFT offerings from several market-leading providers, Inmar Intelligence selected Axway SecureTransport — a secure, scalable, and resilient solution for mission-critical transfers.

Working with Axway, Inmar Intelligence implemented, configured, and tested SecureTransport. Deployed as a high-availability cluster, the solution now supports 23 percent of the company’s total MFT volumes.
Sean Brown, Information Technology Manager at Inmar Intelligence, comments: “We started with the low-hanging fruit: transfers with no mapping requirements that could be moved over to the Axway solution on day one. Addressing new requirements
Today, Inmar Intelligence is using SecureTransport to help address the security and traceability requirements of the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA).
Brown says: “Recently, I asked our team: ‘If you could put a file transfer anywhere, which platform would you choose?’, and the answer was ‘Axway’ every time. After we’ve finished our work around EPCIS, we will explore the possibility of bringing even more of our transfers onto SecureTransport.”
